Wilhelmsen Ships Service
People at Wilhelmsen don't just have a job. With one of the largest maritime networks in the world, our work has real impact: if it floats, our products are likely to be on board and we keep global trade going.
We supply products and solutions for every conceivable type of ship. Our Ships Service division includes the Unitor, Timm Ropes, Unicool refrigerants and Unitor and Nalfleet marine chemicals product brands. Last year we delivered products to 27,500 ships, in more than 2,000 ports.
About the department:
The Customer Service Benelux & Switzerland department is based in Rotterdam, one of the largest and most important ports in the world and for that reason holds a strategic place in the organization. You are part of a team of 6 and report to the Customer Support Manager.
Professional Activities
You are a commercially driven and customer-oriented person who enjoys building stable and commercial relationships with our customers. With your analytical skills, reading customer data is easy and you are able to advise the customer on product usage and purchasing behavior, optimizing the order. You are a reliable advisor who can match advice and service well with customer expectations. We work in a 24/7 environment and you don't mind working a standby shift once every 5+/- weeks on weekends and during evening hours.
As an Inside Sales Adviser, you are the customer's first point of contact in the area of Ships Service. You are responsible for your own portfolio of customers, which you advise on which products to buy when, where, why and how. You proactively follow up on customer offers by calling them to increase the likelihood of purchase. You work closely with the responsible Account Manager with whom you have discussed the Sales Activity Plan, up-selling and cross-selling is not unknown to you. You also enjoy working with internal stakeholders both locally and globally to get the job done.
No day is the same but what can it look like?
It's Friday and you open Salesforce; our CRM-system. You see a new request from a customer, the product has to be delivered to the port of Barcelona this Sunday at the latest. The system indicates that the requested product is not available.
You call the customer to discuss the quote and quickly analyze the needs. You explain that the requested product cannot be delivered on time, but if you have understood the customer correctly you can offer him an even better and appropriate product that can be delivered on time.
You ask your colleagues in Spain if they can arrange delivery. After confirmation you call the customer and close the deal. Job done and time to enjoy the weekend! Hooray!
