On behalf of Olam Agri, MARPRO is looking for an Operations Manager who will oversee all aspects of the daily freight operation with a team mostly located in Rotterdam. This role requires a proven leadership track record, the ability to understand the freight operation department's role in the value chain of a global commodity company, and the importance of a high service level for internal and external customers. You will report to Global Head of Freight Operations (Matrix to Global Head of Freight Trading - Panamax)

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead the freight operations team for the defined business lines
• Revise, design, and execute the most effective and efficient organizational structure (roles, competencies, skill sets) to deliver best-in-class services in operations for the SBU.
• Guide and develop the team and the individual operators, motivating and inspiring team members and fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships between internal business units and external customers.
• Develop the Global Operations Team together with the Operations Leadership team.
• Monitor, understand, and report daily and monthly PnL movements to all interested parties.
• Ensure optimal utilization of the fleet and monitor vessel performance.

Professional competencies

• Minimum 7 years of experience in senior or lead roles in bulk / freight or maritime operations
• Ocean-going and/or technical experience would be of benefit
• Proven leadership and excellent performance in previous and similar roles
• Fluent in English, any other language appreciated.
