On behalf of Eekels Technology, MARPRO is looking for an experienced Lead Engineer for the Yachting business unit to strengthen the Engineering department (Zaandam location).
The Yachting Business Unit is one of the largest electrical system integrators within Dutch yacht building and is active in the top segment of Dutch yacht building.
Yachting's Engineering team processes all cable and system integration data from third party systems on board Super Yachts. Cable connection data is produced from this. These are cable plans, cable data, block diagrams, system descriptions, commissioning reports Secondly, Engineering produces panel drawings for distribution, such as main and sub distribution, starters and control panels. Installation plans with overviews for fire detection systems, sockets, panels, junction boxes. We coordinate the hardware and software control of lighting systems and alarm monitoring control systems.
Your duties as a Lead Engineer are the following
- Give lead to the Engineers for third-party suppliers;
- Designing main and sub distribution panels and directing engineers for the drawing work;
- Checking and validating the generated work;
- Drawing up, maintaining and validating a design file including short-circuit calculations, selectivity calculations, heat loss calculations and power balances;
- Supervising the preparation of manufacturing and commissioning protocols;
- Picking up, keeping track of changes and managing the timely processing of revision work;
- Monitoring the project planning and drawing up an hourly budget;
- A large number of the systems on a ship are part of third-party suppliers. You must identify and process uncertainties regarding I/Os, serial data and/or connection information;
- Ensuring clear communication with the project team and our client.
Professional Qualifications
- HBO working and thinking level and a strong affinity with electrical engineering;
- Several years of relevant experience preferably in shipbuilding;
- Systematic, assertive employee with strong analytical skills who is results-oriented;
- Be able to work well together and have (commercially oriented) communication skills;
- Good communication skills in the English language; Dutch is an advantage.
In addition, we find important the following skills/competencies:
- Electric distribution system (690VAC/400VAC/230VAC/24VDC);
- EPLAN, AutoCAD, Curve direct, Ecodial;
- Safety systems knowledge, such as fire detection systems is an advantage;
- Electrical power distribution >50VDC is an advantage;
- Marine ship systems is an advantage.
