On behalf of our client, Waves Group, MARPRO is looking for a Marine Consultant Master Mariner who has a strong understanding of the marine and offshore industries. This position is based in the vibrant city of Rotterdam.

We are looking for a diligent offshore mariner who is keen to further develop their career with a dynamic company in the offshore energy sector. The candidate can expect to be involved in a wide range of projects involving fixed / floating structures, sub-sea equipment, sub-sea power cables, offshore renewable energy and project cargoes. The work will require attendance on-board vessels and offshore installations as may be reasonably required by the Company.

Key Responsibilities

• Support of marine warranty survey (MWS) projects, providing review of marine procedures and method statements;
• Attending on-site (onshore and offshore) to witness and approve operations;
• Providing advice and guidance, relevant to experience, regarding consultancy services, including feasibility studies and engineering projects;
• Providing support to legal investigations;
• Ensuring customer satisfaction (scheduled compliance and engineering completion) on projects;
• Client development to introduce and deliver new business to the Company.

Professional Competencies

• Practical experience of marine operations within the offshore energy marine environment;
• Foreign Going Masters Certificate of Competency and relevant offshore experience;
• Enthusiasm, motivation and drive to deliver a top quality service;
• A confident and pro-active attitude with strong attention to detail;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

• Practical experience in offshore construction/installation (offshore wind, heavy lift, subsea, power cable, pipeline installation etc.);
• Knowledge and application of the relevant rules, codes and guidelines for the above areas.

Skills and Personal Characteristics

• Highly organised - Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment whilst maintaining focus on quality and attention to detail. Manage and prioritise own workload and that of others on a project;
• Commercial acumen - Ability to identify and understand customers’ needs to formulate effective solutions and to balance their needs with commercial interests of the Waves Group;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, producing reports of the highest standards;
• Forward thinking - Willing to challenge traditional standards where benefits can be achieved;
