We are seeking a Product Manager for the AtoN sector who will play a crucial role in driving innovation and growth within the marine market. This position focuses on R&D, particularly in the design and development of navigation buoys and related AtoN products, aligning projects with the company’s strategic roadmap for 2025-2027. The role involves providing engineering support throughout the lifecycle of large AtoN projects, from pre-bid to post-delivery, ensuring success and customer satisfaction, with potential site travel as needed. This opportunity allows you to significantly impact and shape the future of our client’s AtoN initiatives by leading and executing key projects.As a Product Manager you are responsible for Communication (mainly) and Navigation Products and Services throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the strategic decisions based on market and competitor analyses, creating a roadmap to guide a product/service from concept through design and into release.
The Product Manager will be responsible for design and development of navigation buoys and AtoN products, aligning them with strategic goals. They will manage project lifecycles, providing engineering support from pre-bid to post-delivery to ensure success. The role also involves collaborating with marketing and sales to integrate technical data into promotional materials and ensure competitiveness.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Drive innovation in the design and development of navigation buoys and AtoN products.
- Align projects with the company's strategic roadmap for 2025-2027, focusing on R&D.
- Lead the design and development of polyethylene and steel navigation buoys, including calculations and pre-production tasks.
- Design additional AtoN products such as marina lanterns, ensuring alignment with product roadmaps.
- Provide mechanical engineering support to the Engineering team as needed for project success. Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including user and installation manuals, ensuring complete technical packages.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to include accurate technical data in promotional materials and on the company website.
Professional Competencies
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience in product management, particularly within marine or navigation aids sector.
- Strong mechanical engineering skills, with experience in designing and developing AtoN products such as navigation buoys.
- Prior involvement in Research and Development projects, especially related to new product design and innovation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects through all phases, from concept initiation to delivery, including managing resources and timelines.
- Experience in preparing and managing comprehensive technical documentation, specifications, and user manuals.
- Familiarity with AtoN industry standards and regulations, including IALA guidelines.
- Familiar with the maritime business
- Technical knowledge in the area of marine electronics, navigation and communication systems

- Employ strategic thinking to drive continuous growth and innovation within the AtoN market.
- Understanding of mechanical engineering principles and experience in designing AtoN products
- Skilled in managing complex projects
