Our client is a large global integrated logistics provider. On its behalf MARPRO is looking for a Manager Operations (multimodal) who - with teams located in Germany (Hamburg) and Poland - will keeps shoreside transportation networks in Germany and Benelux running smoothly, on time, on budget, and in compliance - while constantly improving efficiency and service quality.
This role requires a proven leadership track record, the ability to understand the shoreside multimodal operation and the importance of a high service level for internal and external customers.

Main Responsibilities:

• Lead the distributed team that is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing transportation and logistics activities across multiple modes of transport (here road, rail, barge) in Germany and Benelux etc.

• Select, negotiate with, and manage logistics service providers

• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business units, vendors (i.e. rail, truck and barge operators) and customers.

• Secure smooth communication and process alignment as well as implement process improvements where possible

• Set performance goals and ensure operational discipline; monitor, understand, and report performance data.

Professional competencies:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in senior or lead roles in multimodal shoreside operations

• Degree in Logistics & Shipping and several years of experience with multimodal operations

• Solid knowledge of the logistics vendor landscape in Germany and Benelux

• Fluent in German and English (written and oral).

• Dependable communication skills (clarity, conciseness, transparency)

• Proven decision-making capability (analytical, problem solving focus) 

• Strong relationship building skills
